Scott Gentile has been considered a pianist “meant for the stage” and is an active and dedicated soloist, chamber musician, composer and teacher. In 2010 he performed as a soloist at the World Financial Center in honor of Frederic Chopin’s 200th Birthday and the very next year he received first prize of the 2011 Mary Hayes North Piano Competition. He has given solo and chamber-music performances around the world and has served as a judge for piano competitions. He graduated from the Whalen School of Music at Ithaca College where he was the recipient of  the Premier-Talent scholarship and studied with Dr. Jennifer Hayghe and Dr. Charis Dimaris. He currently studies with Dr. Nina Lelchuk at the Aaron Copland School of Music.

As a film-composer he has composed for commercials, independent short films, animation and feature films that have played at film festivals and in movie theatres around the globe. Teaching is one of his biggest passions and as a teacher, he has taught students of all ages in the five

boroughs of New York where he is currently based.

Last year, he transformed his private studio into the Heights Music Program. He is the founder and director of the program, which offers private lessons in Piano, Jazz Piano, Voice and Guitar with some of the finest young teachers and musicians in New York. In addition to performing, composition and teaching, Scott is very passionate about creating job opportunities for

young musicians.

This summer he was named as an Associate Director for the 17th Annual International Keyboard Institute and Festival.
